Holiday Prep Camp - 2011 to be held at Mont Ripley in Hancock, Michigan. Mont Ripley owned/operated by Michigan Tech University is the site of this camp. Mont Ripley offers challenging terrain and an annual average snowfall of over 250 inches.
The dates of the camp are December 26 thru 28, 2011, up to 3 days of training are available, also 2-day and 1 day camps. Skiers both male and female ages 10 to college are welcome to attend regardless of their affiliation.
This 3 day camp is operated by Mont Ripley Racing Team and Bob Vial head coach of the Mont Ripley Racing Team. Bob has 46 years of ski racing experience and is a Level 500 "International" certified coach with the U.S. Ski Coaches Association.
Schedule of the camp is to start Saturday, December 26 at 10:00 a.m. with a meeting (all attend) and then with an 10:30 a.m. chair lift. The 3 days will consist of 5 hours of on-hill training, skiers will have a lunch break for 1 hour, video review for 1 hour and 1 hour of free ski time.
The camp will cover the modern day approach to Giant Slalom and Slalom ski racing. Giving each camper an opportunity to practice tactics and techinque, along with proper starts. All will be done with video for athlete review with coaches.
The "coaching only" cost for camp is $40.00 per each day (3, 2 and 1 day camps).
Lift tickets can be purchased at Mont Ripley chalet. Ticket cost are;
3 days = $TBA, 2 days = $TBA and 1 day = $TBA
Lunch cards value of $30 and you pay $25, available at the Mont Ripley cafeteria.
*Following this camp December 28 & 29, 2011 Central Division of USSA will hold a 2 day "tech camp". The camp is conducted by Brewster McVicker program director for Central Division - USSA.
